College students get six hours of sleep on average, when they should be getting eight. We are notably sleep-deprived from over-loading ourselves with classes, research, internships, etc. Being glued to our screens all day make it difficult to fall asleep at night. Many of us need some help falling asleep, which is where Som comes in. Som’s mission is to, “help everyone sleep better, feel better, and do better.” Read on to find out what the benefits are of drinking Som, how it works, and where you can get it.
My Review of Som
I received a 4-pack of the sugar free version of Som from them in exchange for a review. Before bed two nights last week, I drank Som. The taste was pretty good – it has a berry flavor to it which is sweet. There’s no carbonation, so those who don’t drink pop will be able to drink it with ease. Within 20 minutes my eyes were feeling droopy and I ended up falling asleep. I do take melatonin normally and I feel that Som worked faster and stronger than my normal tablet of melatonin.
Since I drink a lot of energy drinks and coffee, plus have generalized anxiety disorder that makes it difficult to fall asleep, this was perfect because it helps me relax and got rid of the jitters I usually experience before bed.
For any other college students that have trouble falling (and staying) asleep, I would recommend trying Som out and see if it can help you like it did for me. Our sleep is precious and we all could use Som more of it (pun intended).

When you drink Som, you can drink it knowing that the ingredients are no different than what you find naturally in your body, a healthy diet, and green tea.
How does Som work?
Magnesium: A mineral found in your body that aids in the natural production of melatonin.
- Vitamin B6: A component of any healthy diet that helps regulate sleep patterns.
L-Theanine: Naturally found in green tea, it has been shown to effectively promote relaxation.
GABA: Produced naturally in your body, it helps calm activity in the brain and promotes relaxation.
Helps Maintain a Normal Sleep Cycle
MELATONIN: Your body produces it to help you maintain a regular, healthy sleep routine.
Drink 30 minutes before you are ready to sleep – I’d recommend keeping a few in your fridge, because it tastes much better cold than room temperature.
